Relationships , Sex after Sobriety

Why is it so Important to have a healthy and ethical relationship in sobriety ?
Many 12-step sponsors suggest no relationships for the first year of sobriety. This is to give the "newcomer " the chance to heal and get some recovery before putting attention on another Dynamic in life such as sex , marriage and children. Some of the dangers include obsessive compulsive behaviour , getting addicted to the sex or the need to take care of another. Often we trade our drug of choice for a relationship , dooming it to become as unhealthy as our original substance.
So what is healthy ?
Most experts agree that for the relationship to be healthy the participants have to be healthy first. That means a good foundation in their recovery and stability in their own life's , having the ability to first and foremost take care of themselves.
So what is ethical ?
This means unbroken trust . Keeping one's Ethics in requires nothing more than a commitment to each other . For each partner to continue to create and create on this Dynamic. To not even consider any temptation and always do the right thing.
So what happens when we stray and become un-ethical in our relationships?
This is a slippery road often leading up to a relapse.
Dating multiple partners ,cheating , lying are old behaviours of our addiction.
Repeating this behavior in sobriety only re-stimultes the addict leading to inevitable relapse.
